JAVA WITH JOE
From the fear that trusting You
will leave me more destitute...
Deliver me, Jesus.
Dang, this one is real…
No one is more trustworthy than Jesus. When we look at Jesus, we are seeing the ultimate provision of God the Father. God provides what we need and then some.
However, there’s a fear… and even deeper, a lie, that He won’t provide - that trusting in Him will leave us empty.
It takes faith and trust and leaping out into uncertainty. There will be silence and darkness and waiting… but if we open our hands to let go of what we cling to and receive what He offers, we will not be disappointed. We will not want for anything.
For the scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:10-13
Two reminders:
It’s never as bad as we think it is.
Perseverance generally pays off.
